Simply because is the piece is not easily deliverable, it's trash. The Postal Carrier is not required to make any effort in delivering you mail.When your list is delivered here (as delimited text) it is loaded into our mail processing computer. Your addresses are checked against the Post Office's database of deliverable addresses. Ones that are found "undeliverable" are checked and most are corrected manually. You'll get list of bad addresses and The deliverable addresses then receive the 4 additional zip numbers and a barcode. Finally, the list is checked against the Post Office's database of movers; folks that have submitted change of address card. Cost of this operation is included with the general mailing fee.Now you have an excellent address database. Two factors continue to effect you list. First, 20% of the people don't known where they live. Be it Ave, St or Court or direction, N, S, E or W. Second, they can't where they get their mail. They may well live on "your name it road" but they get their mail at a Post Office Box. This makes their street address worthless since there is no mail delivery there.It is your job to guard against these to problems as you collect address data. You just can't sell to them again if you can't reach them.All the rest of preparation is just mechanical functions; folding, tabbing, stuffing & sealing and the like. All this normally prices by the piece and by the function.
